Five rotted sash on a century-old downtown block, with about 80 percent of the original wood saved — epoxy consolidation, re-pegged mortise and tenon joints, new glass. Six more to follow.

The Bud White Building has stood on B Street in downtown Russellville for a century, and turned 100 in 2024. Its owner, JP Leonard, is the great-great nephew of Bud White, who put the building up — so the restoration is a family returning to its own building. The ground floor is already back in use.

The five B Street windows are complete, carried out under a Main Street Arkansas historic restoration grant. About 80 percent of the original wood was saved: epoxy consolidation and filling, restabilizing, and every mortise and tenon joint re-pegged. All new glass, glazed. The casings were rough but not rotted, so they were sanded and reused.

Six more windows follow on the Denver Street elevation.
