Pan liner, a sloped mud bed and full membrane in an awkward triangular shower — the part nobody sees, handed over ready for the tilesetter.

A friend needed one shower done properly before the rest of the house was remodeled. Simple work, and the kind that has to be right the first time.

The walls were re-insulated and drywalled, with GoBoard in the shower itself. We set the drain and floated a custom sloped mud bed — the alcove is an awkward triangle, so the slope had to be worked out rather than simply laid — then laid the PVC pan liner, brought it to final slope, wrapped and lath-reinforced the curb, and rolled membrane over every seam and fastener.

It was handed over ready for the tilesetter to come in. None of that work will ever be seen again, which is exactly why it has to be right.
