Timber Frame

A cedar pergola built from logs cut on our own place — ogee rafter tails and curved knee braces cut to template, assembled in the shop and set on site.

The cedar for this one came off our own property. At the time we were still milling our own stock, so the logs were felled, sawn and sized here, the structure built in the shop, and then taken out and assembled on site.

The rafter tails are shaped to an ogee and the knee braces are curved. Both were cut the same way: a template first, the curve jigsawed out, then sanded clean. The braces were built in the shop.
